Burn's Night by Tina Frederick

Burns' Night, hosted by the Selangor St. Andrew's Society, is a cherished tradition honoring the life and works of Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns. The 2023 celebration brought together a vibrant community to enjoy a night of Scottish culture, complete with traditional haggis, Highland dances, and heartfelt toasts to the bard.

As the official photographer for this esteemed event, I had the opportunity to capture its rich cultural tapestry. My work focused on preserving the energy and spirit of the evening: the ceremonial Address to a Haggis, the elegance of tartan-clad guests, and the lively camaraderie that made the night unforgettable.

This project was a celebration of heritage and connection, and through my lens, I aimed to encapsulate the joy and pride of the Scottish community in Malaysia. My photographs reflect the warmth and authenticity of Burns' Night 2023, creating a visual narrative that honors tradition while celebrating the present.
